The Involuntary Loss of Employment ILOE insurance renewal program was introduced by the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation on January 1st, 2023.This mandatory insurance covers all employees in government and private sectors, including Freezone workers. If you fail to subscribe or ILOE insurance renewal, you may get fined Dh400.
If you have taken out an ILOE policy in 2024, you should already be renewing it. This brief guidance will help you renew your coverage and stay in compliance.
Long before or just after it expires, you can get your ILOE insurance renewal.Here are some directions for making your ILOE longer in seconds.
How do I renew ILOE insurance renewal?
Go to https://www.iloe.ae/, the official ILOE insurance webpage.
To renew it, click the red Subscribe/Renew button.

A new web page will subsequently open. Select the applicable option under the ‘Individual’ category. The three options are:
Private sector influences;
Public sector on the Federal Government employee;
Non-Registered in MOHRE (workers from Free-zone).

Click the’ Confirm’ button.
The OTP code that is provided to your mobile number or registered user login credentials can be used to sign in via OTP or through any existing account.If you sign in with OTP, you will be required to provide your Emirates ID, registered mobile number, and key on the date of birth.

You can choose to renew your insurance policy, confirming all of your details and selecting the policy term.
From there, just select the option to either Renew or Subscribe and the next page will show you the card payment tab.
Enter the card details and after a successful payment, ILOE insurance renewal for the employee will be renewed for another year.

Two Categories of ILOE Insurance Renewal
This insurance programme is classified into two categories.
Employees in class one receive a base wage of Dh16,000 or less per month. Employees in this class pay Dh5 a month or Dh60 a year for insurance.
Class two covers employees with a basic salary of Dh16,000 and above, with the insurance premium being Dh10 per month or Dh120 per annum.
Claiming the policy
An employee termination from employment would be able to lay a claim under the ILOE insurance renewal policy. The insured employee must make a claim in accordance with the claims process within 30 days after his or her termination. The approved claim channels are:

ILOE call centre
If they have worked and subscribed to the insurance scheme for 12 months, residents are entitled to job loss payment unless they have been terminated for disciplinary actions or have resigned.
Within two weeks of the claim date, and no more than three months per claim, the compensation shall be provided.
However, Iloe insurance is not compulsory for every individual in the UAE. Thereby, this program does not cover investors or owners of organizations for which they work; domestic helps; part-time employees; workers under the age of 18; and pensioners entitled to a pension and taking up new employment.
Exemptions
The following persons are exempt from ILOE insurance renewal requirements: investors; business proprietors; domestic helpers; part-time employees; workers aged less than 18 years; and retirees receiving a pension.

Compensation Benefits
The amount of monthly benefits is given at 60% of the average basic salary for the last 6 months before the Involuntary Loss of Employment. The monthly maximum claim benefits for Category A are Dh 10,000.For Category B, maximum claim amount is Dh 20,000 per month. For one claim, the maximum compensation would be three consecutive months.
